To kick off a new series highlighting some of the amazing designers we collaborate with, we sat down with New York-based designer Tina Rich. Tina is the founder of Tina Rich Design, a full service firm specializing in commercial and residential interiors, which recently expanded to include home goods.

For her most recent project, she worked with Karlie Kloss to transform the Klossy office into a warm, productive space. We chatted with her on where she looks for inspiration, her thoughts on office furniture, plus which pieces from the gallery she has her eye on.

What inspired your design for the Klossy office?

Our goal was to create a space that felt more like a home than an office. I wanted the conference room to feel like a dining room (especially since Karlie wanted to be able to host dinner parties!) and the meeting room to feel like a living space. Our initial inspiration came from the Ulla Johnson store which is a gorgeous mix of neutral colors, natural materials, lots of texture, one of a kind pieces, and feminine touches.

How did you bring all of the elements together?

We kept the furniture, lighting, and rugs really neutral and understated and the artwork really brought the space to life and added some much needed color. We wanted the space to have feminine touches so we gravitated towards dreamy, abstract pieces with soft colors.

I find that people may skimp on the artwork in offices, but it’s such an important part of creating a space that is thoughtful and beautiful.

What are your go-to “tricks of the trade”?

1. Offices don’t need to feel corporate or cold! We spend so much of our time at the office that I think it’s important to create a space that is inviting and livable. We chose furniture you would use in a home; a stunning dining table in the conference room, comfortable sofa in the meeting room, and gorgeous rugs.
