About the Artist

File 105946

Stacey Beach (b. 1977) is a Californian artist who creates two-dimensional textile works that explore process, form, and composition. Concerned with the materiality of fabric as a way to explore feminine identity, Stacey’s work is introspective and personally symbolic. Channeling the immediacy of drawing, Stacey’s work begins with a sketch on paper which is then translated to paper and ultimately sewn onto canvas. The subtle ways in which her ideas are translated, from drawing to fabric to sewn image, adds an element of chance and play to the work.
