Visit with Mada Vicassiau

Mada Vicassiau invites us inside her London studio and gives us a closer look at her textile-based process.

Mada's minimalist work captures a meditative atmosphere that allows the viewer to focus on the synergy of her abstracted compositions.

I begin with layers of a base coat of paint depicting some abstract forms between shadows or memory of a color or a space. Proceeding almost magically, the resulting works are intimate abstractions that show the intensity a painting can have within a space.

I search for a certain balance expressed in composition and colour. This process of making as well as experiencing the results has a meditative function in my life. I hope it resonates with my audience.
