For the past decade, Tony Sjöman has made New York City his home while creating an expansive portfolio of painting projects around the world. is exhibition includes a mural and a new series of prints that features a culmination of the motifs and components that have made up Sjöman’s signature work.

Born to Finnish immigrants in Sweden, Sjöman was raised in a working class housing project in Gothenburg, surrounded by grey concrete and tram tunnels. His upbringing is a primary source of inspiration for his work, often combining elements of a hectic metropolis contrasted with the serenity of Nordic nature.

    Manhattan-based artist Tony Sjöman (b.1975) draws inspiration from his Scandinavian heritage by incorporating complex geometric patterns into his murals, silkscreens, paintings. Tony’s use of clean lines and a muted palette echo the highrise silhouettes of the urban landscape, reflecting and abstracting the world around him. Tony’s murals can be seen adorning a broad array of walls in New York City and worldwide, from restaurants and hotels to private residences and office buildings.
