Senem Oezdogan (b. 1980) is a Brooklyn-based mixed media artist whose works meditate on the visual phenomenon of optical illusions through color and form. Smooth gradients give a sense of volume to the bold shapes depicted in Senem’s work that are subsequently flattened by her illusionistic use of spatial composition. Her color palette is equally beguiling, disrupting foreground and background and constantly forcing the viewer to reorient their sense of perspective.

Ashok Sinha (b.1975) is a New York-based photographer whose large-scale photographs capture a sense of place tied to both natural landscapes and built environments. His images feature uncommon perspectives where the horizon is often delegated to the bottommost third of the image or removed entirely. Sinha’s photographs have been published by National Geographic and The New York Times, and exhibited at The Museum of the City of New York, the International Center of Photography, and The Royal Photographic Society.

Erin Lynn Welsh (b. 1984) depicts expressive impressions of the natural landscape. Comprised of broad gestural brushstrokes, Erin’s mark-making captures the unpredictability and volatility of nature while also offering a tool for abstraction, allowing her botanical forms to conjure a greater emotional resonance. Erin harnesses the historical symbology of the natural world, from the awesome power of the sublime landscape to the poignancy of a simple flower, to explore the contrast between beauty and violence.

Based between San Diego, California and Baja, Mexico, Karina Bania is a mixed-media painter whose works relate to landscape and geography. Karina’s paintings feature pale hues and layers of subtle texture, often incorporating traditional pigments and dyes in stains and washes. Focusing on harmony between spontaneity and intention, each discrete shape in her paintings provokes a conversation between visible and unseen landscapes.

Dan Covert (b. 1981) is interested in pushing the emotional and formal limits of abstraction. Covert utilizes a graphic language of organic and decisive forms, and his work explores structuring and ordering these abstract shapes so they appear composed, yet spontaneous. His process leverages digital techniques to sketch and iterate forms, which he ultimately renders with meticulous detail using analog means. Covert lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Bo Kim (b. 1981) is a South Korean born, New York-based artist whose paintings combine organic forms with delicate, thin layers of subdued colors. Hand-drawn circles and ovals blend with biomorphic imagery in balanced, meditative compositions that invite viewers to discover unexpected associations. Kim received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from School of Visual Arts, New York.
