Continuing her exploration of legacy, generational rings, and the interconnectivity to our past and future, Katrine Hildebrandt Hussey's new series pays homage to the land through the use of locally sourced natural dyes from foraged plants. Working in tandem with her hand-bent reeds and burnt lines, Katrine uses the botanical dyes to color transparent rounds of fabric as well as her paper substrate, offering a pop of color to compliment her otherwise neutrally toned materials.

My time away in Sonoma truly felt like an awakening of the senses - the intoxicating aromas of lavender, honeysuckle and eucalyptus, and the fluctuation of temperatures and light as the sun traversed the sky each day.
