Journal: Robert Otto Epstein on 'Grids': Thumbnail
We talk to Robert Otto Epstein about the enduring presence of grids in his work, from paper to a painted basketball court in Chelsea.

For the past decade, I have been making paintings, drawings, and sculptures that explore my interests in deconstructionist philosophy, writing, language, and systems. My work looks at these disciplines and the underlying ways in which they intersect. I see my work as a way of ‘writing structure’—as both a mapping out and a description of the language of ideas, as a physical act of shaping and seeing order in the world.
