In Upon a Golden Mountain, Adrian explores the multifaceted narratives that lie beneath the surface of seemingly ordinary scenes and objects.
It's very important to me that I reduce my method of painting to bare minimums. Besides some brushes and paint, I don't use tape, no fancy brushes, no extra assistance. I think I cling to this romantic idea that this pursuit of beauty and excellence in image making comes from nothing more than simple tool in hand and surface.

These works serves as a poignant reflection on the duality of the human condition - contrasting the aesthetic allure of bright colors and meticulously painted tableaus with the somber undercurrents of disconnection, solitude, and yearning.
I regularly pursue an almost uncanny stillness in my work. The intent is to stretch these moments that I paint, almost like a bated breath, to allow for an immersion that I find is often difficult to achieve when an obvious 'action' occupies the visual spotlight. The totality of the canvas is viewed equally to me, and that consideration begets space for viewers to bring their own motions into the image.
