We teamed up with designers Kate Hamilton Gray of Hamilton Gray Studio and Rebecca Atwood to outfit a dreamy bedroom in Real Simple’s annual Idea Home with original artwork. The natural elements throughout the bedroom are underscored by Christina Watka’s hanging sculpture, made of brass and mica, and Cindy Hsu Zell’s hand-carved wood sculpture, while the watercolor wallpaper plays to the muted gestures of a Laura Naples painting above the dresser. “Touches of customization make the space feel unique and tailored to your style. It doesn't have to be complicated or expensive, just something extra to add charm - like the black molding we used here.”
“Color helps tell the story of your space. For this room, we opted for shades rooted in nature: green is restorative, while taupe and other neutrals are restful. The black accents give the soft palette a little edge.”
