Uprise Art presents Brooklyn-based artist Dan Covert in partnership with our friends at O.N.S. A master at juxtaposing abstract shapes and structures with negative space, Covert's first large-scale mural appears composed yet spontaneous. His process leverages digital techniques to sketch and iterate forms which he ultimately renders with meticulous detail using analog means.
Dan Covert (b. 1981) is interested in pushing the emotional and formal limits of abstraction. Covert utilizes a graphic language of organic and decisive forms, and his work explores structuring and ordering these abstract shapes so they appear composed, yet spontaneous. His process leverages digital techniques to sketch and iterate forms, which he ultimately renders with meticulous detail using analog means. Covert lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
