As part of our ongoing artist-in-residence series with MacArthur Place, Lisa Hunt makes the wine country property her home for a week. The mixed media artist will continue her ongoing series of screen-printed works that explore the meditative relationships of patterns, as well as lead a hands-on workshop focused on her signature gold leaf technique.

Lisa Hunt (b. 1968) is a Maplewood, New Jersey-based visual artist whose work explores the spatial and meditative relationships found in patterns. Employing lines, symbols, and typographic elements onto canvases and screenprints, her work reveals the infinite possibilities of shape and repetition. Lisa's work draws inspiration from textiles, with her distinctive use of gold leaf further expanding on these relationships.

As one of the ten founding fellows who participated in the 2021 New Hope Colony Artist Residency, Lisa’s work was showcased in their Founders + Fellows exhibition. In 2022, her collages were acquired by Google’s New York headquarters and the Weisman Museum in Minnesota. She has exhibited at the Claire Oliver Gallery, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, Trout Museum, and the International Print Center in New York. Lisa is a member of the Female Design Council and a founding member of the Black Artist + Designers Guild.
