For the Editions / Artists' Books Fair Uprise Art presents new works from Xochi Solis, Inka Bell, and Jeremy Haik that relate to process and location.

  • Inka BellHelsinki, Finland

Inka Bell (b. 1981) is a Helsinki, Finland-based printmaker who uses minimal groupings of color and pattern to evoke specific states of being. Her palettes create visual narratives that are at once familiar yet foreign. Inka’s prints have the effect of making order out of disorder, giving form to our physical and abstract experiences.

  • Jeremy HaikPhoenix, AZ

Jeremy Haik (b.1981) is a Phoenix, Arizona-based artist and writer. Using found images and iconography from his archive, Jeremy constructs digital collages that displace his original source material from a linear narrative or rational context. The resulting images read as poetic interventions on the advent of photography.

  • Xochi SolisAustin, TX

Xochi Solis (b. 1981) is an Austin, TX-based mixed media artist. Her works include multilayered, collaged paintings constructed from paint, hand-dyed paper, vinyl, plastics, and images from found books and magazines. Xochi considers the repeated act of layering a meditation on color, texture, and shape, all leading to a greater awareness of the visual intricacies found in her immediate environment, both natural and cultural. Xochi shares her studio time between Texas and Mexico.
