Exhibition: Adam Frezza & Terri Chiao at 200 Fifth Avenue: Thumbnail

Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao make up the collaborative duo CHIAOZZA (pronounced like "wowza"). Their work explores everyday life and domestic play, embracing vibrant color palettes and surreal elements that exist at the intersection of imagination and the natural world. For 200 Fifth Avenue, which was once known as the International Toy Center, CHIAOZZA's two series, 'Wooden Wall Works' and 'Pulp Vessels', are positioned opposite one another. The 'Wooden Wall Works' take inspiration from avant-garde toy design in the early 20th century, using colors and shapes that reference wooden animals, cityscapes, waves, jazz, and toy figures. Opposite, the 'Pulp Vessels' are created using recycled paper pulp, which is sculpted and painted to reference the growth and accretion of substances in nature.
