Jackie Meier (b. 1966) creates soft, geometric paintings where hand-drawn, solid-colored segments fit together to create an abstract illusion of space, motion, and time. Beginning with repeated forms, like grids, straight lines, and curves, her works build on these drawings with layers of color. These layers evoke curtains or drapes, as well as natural forms like plant growth. Meier lives in Mamaroneck, NY and works in Brooklyn.
