About the Artist
Martina Lang (b. 1982) is a photographer who creates conceptual images with a surreal twist. Her staged photographs often use common items, like paper, to create sculptural environments that introduce new perspectives. The tone of her work tends to shift between the meditative and humorous. Martina’s obsession with nature, books, and the everyday act as constant sources of inspiration for her work. The artist grew up in rural Bavaria and studied photography in Stuttgart where she graduated with honors. She moved to London after being awarded a scholarship and received an MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins University. She was PAMM Curator’s Pick at Pulse Miami Beach in 2018. Martina currently lives and works in London, UK with her practice spanning across editorial, commercial and fine art projects.
