In my practice, I value the meticulous study of position, balance, and more significantly - an economy of line and color. The lines are not too much, or too little, but rather only what is essential.
About the Artist
Lourenço Provîdencia (b. 1996) is a Portuguese artist living and working in New York. With a background in design, illustration, painting, and mural work, Lourenço's multifaceted approach to image-making has largely influenced his refined minimal aesthetic. Inspired by simplicity, efficiency, and the wonders found in the everyday, Lourenço's work values an economy of color and line and reflects the essential qualities of the objects and people that inhabit his paintings.
