Linda Colletta sits down with us to talk about her work, spontaneity, and Instagram-obsession.
My work, my painting, must be spontaneous. It must feel sudden and impromptu in order for me to actually enjoy the work and (in my opinion) for the best work to come through.
About the Artist
Bridgeport, Connecticut-based Linda Colletta (b.1974) paints expressive and gestural abstractions that evoke a physical, emotional and spiritual reaction to her environment. To construct her paintings, Linda uses a wide range of tools and techniques to achieve a broad array of textures, patterns and mark making. Layers of color, collage and paint engage the viewer as the totality of the painting’s surface slowly reveals itself.
