About the Artist

Keiko-Kamata

Keiko Kamata (b. 1974) is a printmaker whose work captures the uninterrupted experience of color and form. Her monoprints build complexity and depth with layered transparent inks, creating images that cannot be easily deciphered and prolong the act of looking. Keiko's works have been exhibited most notably at the International Print Center New York, the Honolulu Museum of Art, the Contemporary Museum in Hawaii, and the International Print Biennial in Bulgaria. Collections include the Williamsburg Art and Historical Center and the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Keiko received her BA in Education from ICU (Tokyo, Japan) and MFA in Printmaking from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
