Artist Kayla Plosz Antiel sitting at a table in her studio working on a watercolor painting. She is surrounded by her floral artworks hanging on the walls around her.
Titled Florilegia, Kayla Plosz Antiel's latest series takes its name from the Medieval-era scrapbooks used to collect flower clippings, writing passages, collage, and personal keepsakes. The painter fills the page with sprawling fields of florals in bright punches of aqueous pigment for her new collection of watercolor botanicals. Step inside her Raleigh, NC studio below.

Titled 'Florilegia', this series takes its name from the Medieval-era notebooks where you'd collect your favorite lines or passages from various authors. These quotes or literary flowers were flourishes you recognized as beautiful and would transcribe into your florilegia to have ready access to later.
