“I am consistently drawn to recreate ideas of spirituality, of the duality of stillness and movement, the experience of place, finding inspiration in the everyday, and being present in the moment” — Nina Stolz Bellucci
Nina Stolz Bellucci (b. 1983) creates her work through an elaborate staging process where photography and found objects are used to create original collages that serve as models or maquettes for her painting. Inspired by the idiosyncrasies of these assemblages, her work engages with an inherent spirituality of the natural world through the surprising nuances of light and shadow. At once grounded in the the logic of naturalism and the poetry of association, her works offer a modern trompe-l’oeil ripe with personal symbolism. She currently lives and works in Newton, MA with her husband and two children.
