“ I bought a vintage wallpaper brush at a tag sale a few summers ago. It cost a dollar. The distressed bristles and the way they hold the paint are all just complete perfection that ignited a whole series of works I now refer to as my 'Brushworks'. These pieces are the result of my love affair with this magical brush, the infinite beauty and simplicity of a brushstroke, and an homage to painting itself. I create these pieces in-between my more phrenetic works as a visual rest and an exploration of shapes and forms. They range from a zen-like calligraphy to complex layered gestures, all of which exude a feeling of movement, freedom, and flow. ” — Linda Colletta
