Born at home in the backwoods of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula, Leif Huron (b. 1980) left at seventeen to ride freight trains, work on sugar beet farms, and travel throughout Europe and the continental United States playing drums for a DIY grind core project based out of Minneapolis, MN and Berlin, Germany. Leif studied film at the Academy of Film, Television, and Performing Arts in Prague, CZ. Huron co-produced and shot a short film titled, Madness of the Day with Austrian director, Daniel Hoesl as part of “A European Film Conspiracy”. He has also worked extensively as a commercial photo assistant and earned a BFA in photography at the Fashion Institute of Techonology and an MFA in photography from Parsons The New School for Design. Leif works as a filmmaker, photographer, and educator.
