“The 'Ligne' series is about building form from lines of varying weights, both in terms of width and opacity. Textural elements introduced at intervals create depth and musicality as the observer moves through each piece. A limited palette based on a Morandi still life was employed to visually link the three works, yet each tells its own version of the color story. Viewing the three works side by side, the overall connections are apparent - yet each can stand on its own as an individual vessel.” — Laura Naples
Laura Naples (b. 1979) is a painter whose textured work is at once dynamic and peaceful. Her paintings’ delicate fluid forms and gestural lines evoke a sense of play and harmony, emerging as studies in chroma and value that contrast the concepts of spontaneity and control. Naples and her sister Kristen Giorgi (b. 1984) make up the collaborative studio NG Collective.
