“I found this black paper and fell in love with the texture and hand to it. I knew I wanted to create an inverse of what I generally paint ? thus the black and white forms came to life but quickly sunk back into something both living and also otherworldly.” — Kate Roebuck
Largely influenced by her background in textile design, artist Kate Roebuck (b. 1985) finds inspiration in form, pattern, color, and texture. Exploring these classical themes, she seeks to create open-ended visual dialogue and to shed light on the ever-evolving relationship of the creator and the created. She received her BFA from the University of Georgia and lives and works in Lookout Mountain, TN.
