“I’m obsessed with lines and points. I knew I wanted 'Arrow' - the final composition in this series - to be an exploration of triangles. When I sat down to create 'Arrow' rather than sketching I created a dozen isosceles triangle cut-outs in various sizes and played around with different configurations before settling on this one which flips the color area on the third panel to create a more dynamic, eye-catching visual effect.” — Jason Trotter
Jason Trotter (b. 1972) is a Los Angeles-based painter focused on large-scale, multi-panel works. Using sharp lines with abrupt transitions between different areas of color, his compositions are derived from daily life, intended to evoke an instinctual, physical reaction from observers. The correlation of shapes from panel to panel permits more complex interactions of form to create singular compositions.
