“The bold forces of color and formation equally need their bold force of negative space. Just as the sea meets the land, there is a need for darkness to meet light.” — Holly Addi
Holly Addi (b. 1973) is a Salt Lake City-based painter. Her works examine energy, space, and landscape through tempered abstraction. At once engaged in new methods to read public space, she views her practice as a deeply personal game of renegotiation between rules of inclusion and omission, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles.
