“Conceptually, I was looking for ways to record the thought process of writing a letter and decided on rendering the fluid gesture of the circle, creating an abstract interpretation of the text.” — Gail Tarantino

Gail Tarantino (b. 1958) is a San Francisco Bay-area painter and photographer. Her works focus on thinking of ways to interpret language and its myriad meanings. First creating short narratives or letters, she then translates these written communications into color, coding messages that question the validity of interpretation.
