“This collection of paintings were inspired by the foliage and palette of a welcomed Spring time in my home state of Georgia. Also symbolic of a new season, this is my first group of works since becoming a mother. My layered and prayful approach reflecs the joy and complexity of motherhood.” — Britt Bass Turner

About the Artist

File 82801

Britt Bass Turner (b.1989) is an abstract painter living and working in Roswell, Georgia. Britt’s paintings value an economy of line with succinct and graphic marks interlaced among expressive washes. Her paintings nod to the natural world with enclosed shapes resembling both the botanical and the cosmic. The illusion of movement and atmosphere is achieved by combining areas of small, dense marks with large swaths of gestural paint application, creating moments of tension and release.
