“I'm happy to release my first series of paintings since becoming a mother. Motherhood has changed my studio practice and reverence for the act of creating. These pieces are lush and verdant and I hope they evoke joy and a sense of fullness for the viewer.” — Britt Bass Turner

About the Artist

File 82801

Britt Bass Turner (b.1989) is an abstract painter living and working in Roswell, Georgia. An Atlanta native, she received her BFA from the University of Georgia in Athens and has been creating lively abstract paintings since. Her work typically features succinct and graphic washes with nods to the natural world – enclosed shapes resembling leaves, moons, or suns. Her bright paintings incorporate movement by combining areas of small, dense marks with large swaths of gesture, creating periods of tension and release that resemble the motion of a river or the curve of a landscape.
