Beverly Ress (b. 1955) is a DC-area based artist who draws from life in colored pencil on paper, exploring ways of incorporating ideas from science into representational, still life drawing. Her subjects range from collections in natural history museums to broader themes from mathematics, physics, and mortality. Beverly Ress received her MFA in sculpture from the Rinehart School of Sculpture, at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and her AB degree in Fine Arts from Earlham College in Richmond, IN. She resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.
