“Antarctica is one of those few places left on Earth where there has never been war and where the environment is fully protected thanks to The Antarctic Treaty. However, in 2048 this treaty comes up for global discussion and there are strong fears that it could be dismantled, thus opening up the fragile environment of the last frontier to the development and exploitation by global corporations.” — Ashok Sinha
Ashok Sinha (b.1975) is a New York-based photographer whose large-scale photographs capture a sense of place tied to both natural landscapes and built environments. His images feature uncommon perspectives where the horizon is often delegated to the bottommost third of the image or removed entirely. Sinha’s photographs have been published by National Geographic and The New York Times, and exhibited at The Museum of the City of New York, the International Center of Photography, and The Royal Photographic Society.
