Based in Stillwater, OK, Andy Mattern (b. 1979) is a contemporary photographer who uses everyday objects as a source of inspiration. Recent exhibitions include POP Explosion: the Artist and Popular Culture, Sweetwater Center for the Arts, Sewickley, PA (2014); Absent Vessel, Photo Center NW, Seattle, WA (2013); Trace, Greymatter Gallery, Milwaukee, WI (2013); and Introductions, Trestle Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (2013), among many others. In 2013, Andy received The Photo Center Artist Printing Fellowship. Andy holds a BFA in Studio Art from the University of New Mexico and an MFA in Photography from the University of Minnesota. Andy Mattern is currently the Assistant Professor of Photography & Digital Media at Oklahoma State University.
