I often feel overwhelmed by the idea of infinite solutions and usually try to work within some self-imposed limitation, like a specific size or source of reference.
About the Artist
Josie Stevenson (b. 1992) is a mixed-media artist living and working in New Jersey. After she graduated from Parsons the New School for Design with a BFA in Illustration she began reworking "failed" paintings into new collages. Her collages incorporate soft, pastel washes cut into organic shapes that overlap to create delicate overlaps that at once evoke alien landscapes and intimate still lifes. Recently, her collages feature stippled drawings of spiderwebs, leaves, and flowers that resemble treasures pressed between the pages of a book.
